Last month, I had a blast participating in DesignClaud’s Landscape Mood Board Link Party. It was so much fun, I was eager to participate again. This month the topic is food!
The rules for playing along are simple:
1) Select a food related picture (you have to be the photographer of the picture)
2) Determine the color palette within the picture
3) Create a mood board with items based on that color palette.
I particularly loved this challenge, because I have been wanting to improve my food photography skills. I photographed macarons, which always remind me of the trip my Mom and I took to Paris (I mentioned that trip here). These macarons are from Trader Joe’s and they are ah-mazing!
It took about forty photographs, but I finally snapped (and liked) the above. I used Photoshop Elements Quick to do a “smart fix” on the photo and to adjust the levels. It’s so amazingly easy! Next, I switched to Photoshop Elements Expert to add the rectangles and select the colors.
The macarons really made me want to invite my girlfriends over for some coffee, desserts and girl talk. Thus, I imagined what this party would look like in the macaron color palette.
I had a bit of trouble finding a peach colored item I liked, but then I thought that gold was a peachy-shade. And I love me some gold! Je T’aime!
Je t’aime, I love me an afternoon of macarons, coffee and girl talk! Even better should it take place in Paris!
Hop on over to DesignClaud to see her mood board and the entries other bloggers created. I imagine there is still time to submit your link for the link party if you are interested, as well. I can’t wait to see the topic she chooses next month!
And you? Do macarons make you think of girl talk over coffee? Are you also learning how to photograph better?
Until next time!
