Pumpkin Recipe Collection

I have this habit of calling my 2 and a 1/2 year old niece “Pumpkin.” Half the time, she giggles and says, “Yeah, I’m a little Pumpkin.” The rest of the time she giggles and says (like every great two year old), “Noooooo! I’m not a Pumpkin! I’m a BIG girl!” Either way, it’s pretty much the greatest thing ever.

Yesterday, my niece and I were walking past a bodega and we saw mini pumpkins for sale. We stopped and picked one out for her to bring home. She was so excited about her pumpkin, she walked and carried it the whole way home.

“Aunt Stacey?”
“Yes, Pumpkin?”
“Can you eat pumpkin?”

Can you ever! Pumpkin eating season officially began for me when Starbucks rolled out the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Delicious! But my pumpkin eating affection doesn’t stop there. I like pumpkin flavored anything. In that spirit, I put together a little round-up of all the pumpkin recipes I want to make as soon as I get over being a cooking coward.

I will happily eat popcorn for dinner, so I really can’t wait to try the Pumpkin Spice Popcorn. I also love any and everything s’mores so the pumpkin s’mores are right up my alley, too. I figure I should try my hand at one recipe so my niece can taste pumpkin, seeing as how she’s my very favorite Pumpkin!

And you? Are you a fan of the pumpkin flavor? Do you like “pumpkin” as a pet name? Which recipe are you cooking first?

Until next time!

Postscript: Through researching this post, I also learned that there are Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses and Pumpkin Spice M&Ms. Both have already been ordered. Obviously, a taste test is in order. Hope I love them!

  1. I saw a recipe using pumpkin kisses on pinterest the other day and couldn’t figure it out. Now it makes sense. I don’t think they have them in Canada yet – although i haven’t been trolling the grocery aisles. My Grandma makes the best pumpkin chocolate chip muffins -so good. And this pumpkin pie recipe from Oprah is one of our faves. http://www.oprah.com/food/Pumpkin-Chiffon-Pie-Recipe-Cristina-Ferrares-Cooking-Class-Video (and it’s pretty easy…just buy a crust)

  2. I’m not a fan of pumpkin, but my sister is. I’ll have to share these recipes with her! Although I ‘ve already been told that I’m making my grandma’s pumpkin squares for her, so giving her a bunch more recipes to look at might not be the best idea haha.

    • Grandma’s pumpkin squares?! Sounds delicious! Will you be sharing this recipe or is it a family secret? Hope you don’t end up making 9 recipes for your sister (or 10 if you count your Grandma’s, too), but I do hope she likes the collection! HAHA. xoxo

  3. You know I love pumpkin! I made some pumpkin whoopies for a tailgate last year and they were a huge hit. I’ll have to try this recipe this year. One of my favorite pumpkin recipes is pumpkin chili. It is so tasty.

    • Oh yum!!! I cannot wait to try that Pumpkin Chili recipe. That looks insanely delicious! Thanks for sharing the link! xoxo

  4. Apparently those M&Ms are really hard to come by! My coworker has struck out a couple of times trying to hunt them down. I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, bought a pumpkin spice candle and got pumpkin spice coffee creamer this weekend. It’s just too much fun to not get into season flavors. :)

  5. I LOVE pumpkin! One of the reasons I love Thanksgiving! These are too much…thanks for the links!

    • Pumpkin pie is the ONLY thing I love about Thanksgiving food! Strange, huh? I will happily eat a piece of Pumpkin and a piece of Pecan Pie for dinner! xoxo

  6. Yum yum! One of my fav fall things is pumpkin!

  7. I love, love, love pumpkin too. Pinning these to add to my collection. I’m with you on the s’mores. My kids are always tired of pumpkin by the time November rolls around. The pumpkin spice kisses are pretty good. I haven’t tried the M&M’s yet. An easy pumpkin muffin recipe is a can of pumpkin, a box of spice cake mix, a bag of chocolate chips and 1/4 to 1/2 cup water. That’s it. Mix it together and bake in muffin tin for approx 30 min. at 350. Easy!!!

    • Thanks so much for pinning! Ooo!! I can’t wait to try the Pumpkin Spice kisses!

I’m definitely trying your pumpkin muffin recipe this weekend! Wow!! Easy!! I’ll let you know how it turns out! xoxo

  8. That’s so great to come here (after a long time away) and find your pumpkin-collage-recipes! I love pumpkin soup, but other than that I never had any other pumpkin-related food. But I love the taste though, so I’m wanting to try some of these recipes out. Especially now with the beautiful sunny fall days we’re having here, I think it’s the perfect moment to try out new recipes. 😉 Although I haven’t been so fond of cooking lately now when being pregnant. Funny huh? I feel a slice of bread with jelly or chocolate is sometimes enough. :-) Or a bag of potato chips in front of the tv… Just to eat the sick feeling away. 😉 Thanks so much for your super lovely message on my blog this week, I feel so fortunate with such lovely sweet bloggie-friends! 😉
Anyway, definitely keeping these recipes in my favorite section so I can try them out later!!
Big pumpkin-hugs to you (love the name pumpkin, but we don’t use it as a pet name),
    Inge x :-)

    • Hi Inge!! So great to see you back here. Sending you huge hugs and major congratulations on the preganancy! I can’t wait to follow along with the journey on your blog!

And so glad you love the pumpkin recipes!! Let me know if you try any!

As to eating preferences… I think that sounds pretty normal for a pregnancy. And toast with chocolate always sounds good for me! :)

  9. I am not a big fan of pumpkin flavored stuff. I don’t care for pumpkin pie. I’ve never had a pumpkin drink at Starbucks. Not particularly fond of pumpkin beers.

I did buy two very large pumpkins last year for a costume and me being me and not wanting to waste anything I went on a hunt for pumpkin uses.
    And I had A LOT.
For both, nothing earth shattering but I roasted the seeds.
For one, I peeled and cubed it and used it all through out the winter for dinners: added it to chilis and soups; sauteed it with onions and garlic; anything that I would normally use zucchini or squash in I used the pumpkin.
For the other, I peeled and cubed it but put it in the crock pot with butter and spices to make my own pumpkin pie goop. It was awesome.
I actually made number 2 above.

    • You made pumpkin donut? YUM!!! Wish I had been there to taste it!! And I love pumpkin chili. Well, really, I love pumpkin everything!! xoxo

    • PS… I really want to try the Pumpkin S’mores!
